FIELD: charging of shotgun cartridges for smoothbore guns, applicable in sporting shooting on a trench test stand, as well as in game-shooting. SUBSTANCE: the wad has a hollow cylindrical body, on whose one side around the edges an annular obturation bulge is positioned, and on the other side - lugs formed by longitudinal slots, and a damping member with a blind cavity is positioned inside the body. The wad cavity is made a multi- chamber one, the chambers are located in the lugs positioned according to the principle of symmetry, and the axis of symmetry coincides with the body axis. It is expediently to make the thickness of the lug inner walls by 10 to 15 times less than the bottom thickness, and by 2 to 4 times less than the thickness of the outer walls. It is good practice to make one chamber in each lug, and the thickness of the inner walls of the lugs in the cross-section it is more expedient to make with a thinning to the middle of the walls. EFFECT: enhanced close grouping of shots at a use of any shot as a shotgun charge. 4 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
