FIELD: fiber-optical communication. SUBSTANCE: optical cable includes forming tube so made of collection of strips that it can be divided longitudinally, pulling cords positioned in sheath near seams of forming tube, pair of tension elements implanted into sheath surrounding forming tube and optical fibers inside forming tube. According to another variant cable includes core coming in the form of multilayer structure made of strip fiber-optical conductors and protective strips covering core. Core of cable can be twisted. Gear to manufacture optical cables has internal tube, nipple placed on its outside with first clearance, possessing holes for input of pulling cord and tension elements and spinneret located outside of nipple with second clearance. In process of manufacture of cable fiber-optical conductors are passed through internal tube and are confined inside forming tube which is made of two or more plastic strips fed into first clearance. Molten resin is fed through second clearance to form sheath. Tension elements and pulling cords are passed through holes in nipple. EFFECT: simple and effective process of manufacture of optical cable displaying improved properties with reference to its subsequent stripping to fiber-optical conductors. 14 cl, 15 dwg
