FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical structures to ensure strength and external protection of fibres, specifically to a fibre-optic tape. Fibre-optic tape 1 includes three or more parallel optical fibres 2 and connection sections 3, each of which connects two neighbouring optical fibres 2. Connection sections 3 are arranged with alternation in both longitudinal and transverse directions of tape. Outer diameter of optical fibres 2 in fibre-optic tape 1 does not exceed 220 mcm, and distance between centres of neighbouring two optical fibres is 250±30 mcm.
EFFECT: possibility of achieving higher density and reduction of diameter, thus providing accurate arrangement without errors of optical fibres in V-shaped grooves of welding device.
