FIELD: marking objects, especially securities. SUBSTANCE: use is made of marking means in carrier medium in the form of at least one inorganic particle including minimum two chemical elements in at least one preset proportion of elements, this proportion being used as code or part of code in which particle is chosen from group of non-stoichiometric crystals; particle remains in carrier medium for in-situ determination of preset proportion of elements. As soon as this marking means is obtained, its inorganic particles are introduced in carrier which is, essentially, cover compound, best of all ink, and this cover compound is applied to part to serve as marking. For identification position of these particles is located by using analytical method, preferably by scanning electronic microscopy and proportion of chemical elements in particle composition is found, best way of doing so being X-ray dissipation with respect to energy or wavelength on scanning electronic microscope.
