FIELD: protective coatings. SUBSTANCE: method involves nickel and chromium as alloying elements, chromium being deposited directly after nickel and deposition of nickel is carried out at cathode current density 1.5-2.0 A/sq.dm for 1.25- 1.75 h and deposition of chromium respectively at 25-45 A/sq. dm for 0.25- 0.75 h. Heat treatment of thus formed double-layer coating is effected at 925-975 C for 2.5-3.5 h. Method can be applied in manufacture of tin cans. EFFECT: increased corrosion resistance of steel under conditions of thermomechanocycling by formation of surface solid solutions. 1 tbl, 3 ex
