ROTOR-SPIRAL Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2223414 C2

FIELD: wind power engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to provide stable operation of windmills both at low and high air flow velocities. According to invention in wind rotor containing shaft and conical spiral blade, first largest turn of spiral is installed towards oncoming wind flow, following smaller turns of spiral are extended along shaft axis and tilted at acute angle relative to direction of wind flow and shaft axis. Spring-loaded wind baffles are provided on inner parts of spiral blade for maximum takeoff of kinetic energy from wind flow. EFFECT: increased efficiency of usage of wind flow at low and high velocities. 1 dwg
