FIELD: determination of thickness of water film on surface of roadway. SUBSTANCE: method to form signal depending on thickness of liquid film on surface of roadway is implemented with the help heating or cooling device possessing heating or cooling surface contacting liquid film which correspondingly heat or cools part of liquid film. Then temperature measuring unit determines correspondingly rise or drop of temperature of heated or cooled part of liquid film. Thereafter control and data processing element assigns value or range of values of thickness of liquid film which correspond to rise or drop of temperature of part of liquid film and generates data in the form of signal. Proper device realizes this method. EFFECT: design of simple and comparatively inexpensive method and device testing condition of surface of roadway. 11 cl, 6 dwg, 1 tbl
