SUBSTANCE: method involves following procedures: concatenated code is first received, after that internal and then external codes of concatenated code are decoded, short or long concatenated code being decoded including error correction and detection; received message is obtained, if decoding has not failed. Novelty is that internal code of concatenated code is decoded starting with decoding of internal code of long concatenated code and number s of internal-code words of concatenated code received at point of internal-code words of concatenated code that are not transferred for short concatenated code is found; if number s exceeds threshold value, long concatenated code is considered to be received and external code of long concatenated code is decoded; if number s does not exceed threshold value, short concatenated code is found to be received and external code of short concatenated code is decoded.
