FIELD: chemical industry; titanium dioxide dechlorination. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a reactor for conducting process of titanium dioxide dechlorination. The reactor may be used for conducting processes of mass exchanging and chemical reactions between a gas stream and a dispersed medium, predominantly for dechlorination the titanium dioxide produced by using chloride know-how. The reactor contains a body with an inlet chamber supplied with a peripheral branch pipe for feeding particles of non-dechlorinated titanium dioxide. The chamber has a coaxially mounted supersonic nozzle with a branch pipe for supply of a working gas and a mixing chamber. Behind the mixing chamber there is a diffuser with following ratio of geometric: lmch = (6,0÷7,5)d1; ld = (5,0÷6,0)d1; d2 = (1,5÷2,0)d1; where d1 - a diameter of the mixing chamber, equal to an inlet diameter of the diffuser; lmch - length of the mixing chamber; ld - length of the diffuser; d2 - outlet diameter of the diffuser. The given design of the reactor allows to increase speed of the mass exchange and a chemical reaction on a surface of particles of titanium dioxide and to increase efficiency of the dechlorination process in the jet type reactor.
