FIELD: rolling, methods studying internal structure of material with the use of ultrasound. SUBSTANCE: in correspondence with proposed procedure article is placed into liquid and pulses of elastic vibrations are emitted normally to surface of article. First and second pulses of longitudinal wave passed through sheet, pulse of lateral wave passed once through sheet and pulse passed through liquid in absence of article in measurement path are emitted. Velocities of propagation of elastic waves in liquid and article are computed. Strength characteristics of material are established by measured velocity of propagation of longitudinal wave. Besides that amplitudes of first and second pulses passed through sheet and amplitude of first pulse passed through liquid are measured and density of material of article is determined. EFFECT: development of procedure for fast test of widened range of physical-mechanical characteristics of material of moving sheet material. 2 cl, 2 dwg
