FIELD: internal flaw detection, thickness measurements, and measuring physical and mechanical characteristics of materials by elastic wave propagation speed.
SUBSTANCE: proposed electroacoustic transducer has piezoelectric plate carrying electrodes on its face and attached on one end by means of adhesive to acoustic delay unit in the form of buffer rod and on other end, to damper disposed within case; piezoelectric plate is cut at certain angle to crystal axis Z of piezoceramic material whose value depends on its ability to afford maximal radiation and reception of longitudinal and transversal waves; piezoelectric plate thickness is calculated from formula d = C1/2f1, where C1 is longitudinal wave speed in piezoelectric plate material in direction perpendicular to its face; f1 is resonant frequency corresponding to maximum of conversion coefficient for longitudinal wave.
EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities of electroacoustic transducer.
