FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for preparing alkanesulfonylpyridines of the general formula (1) 
wherein R1 represents (C1-C6)-alkyl by interaction of compound of the formula (2) 
with Grignard's reagent, treatment of prepared substance with (C1-C6)-alkylsulfonylating reagent and if necessary the prepared compound of the formula (1) wherein R1 represents methyl is subjected for hydrazinolysis in the presence of amine in suitable solvent to obtain compound of the formula (3) 
. Described method provides simplifying the process for preparing alkanesulfonylpyridines due to reducing number of stages, availability of used reagents and carrying out the process at temperature above -20 C but not at extra low temperatures as by the known method.
