FIELD: mechanical engineering; units requiring high precision of conversion of rotary motion into translational motion. SUBSTANCE: proposed ball-and-screw drive has housing with set of rings provided with races where balls engageable with turns of screw thread are located. Rings are movable relative to housing and are split over plane of symmetry of races. Rings are interconnected by of projections of slide blocks. End inner rings are interconnected by means of bush provided with slide block projections. Spring mounted inside said bush is engageable with end inner rings. One of outer rings is rigidly connected with inner taper half-coupling engageable with mating outer taper half-coupling rigidly secured inside housing.
