FIELD: mechanical engineering, mechanical drives. SUBSTANCE: helical pair has screw with threaded grooves. Screw section in plane perpendicular to its axis has star-like form with bosses uniformly arranged over circumference to hold balls. Nut has tracks made in its internal surface for interaction with balls placed between thread. Inclination angle of helical line of threaded grooves equals two friction angles. EFFECT: prolonged service life of mechanism, simplified assembly and expanded kinematic capabilities of helical pair. 2 dwg
