PACKAGE FOR CUT FLOWERS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: packages for item storage and transportation, particularly for cut flowers. SUBSTANCE: package is made of blank formed of solid sheet material. Blank has a number of shaped parts divided by adjoining sides by fold lines which are weakened in comparison to another part areas. Blank comprises two elongated parts extending in longitudinal direction and connecting each other along central fold line. The elongated parts form side walls of package during blank folding along above fold line. Each elongated part has convex arc edges formed on opposite ends thereof and concave arc lines of deflection opposite to convex edges. Concave lines and convex edges form ellipse-shaped areas, which during blank folding along concave lines create package lid and bottom members. At least one elongated part has side flap located on side opposite to central line of deflection. Side flap is divided from above area by longitudinal line of deflection and connected with opposite side on the second elongated part. The first and the second elongated parts have rectangular cuts symmetrically located relative central line of deflection and identically shaped tabs which form gripping means for package holding by user's hand. Blank is made of cardboard or polymeric material. Ratio of maximal length of any ellipse-shaped area to maximal width thereof is 2.9 - 3.6. EFFECT: extended range of technological means used in packaging equipment, increased storage and transportation reliability, increased convenience during package holding by user's hand, prevention of flower damage during long-time storage and transportation, possibility of packaging of single flower or flower groupings having different dimensions, reduced occupied storage space, easy assembling, possibility of repeated use. 8 cl, 4 dwg
