FIELD: research work with estimation of corrosion wear of internal surface of pipe-lines used in chemical and oil and gas industries. SUBSTANCE: specimen-blank sample to examine corrosion in pipe-line comes in the form of hollow cylinder cut along axis and made of material of examined specimen. Material of specimen displays elastic pliability under action of radial forces. Insulation coat is so applied on outer surface of specimen that sections located along cutting line remain uncoated. Specimen- blank sample is provided with flat springs produced from corrosion-resistant steel mounted on outer surface of specimen. One end of each spring is fixed in uncoated section of specimen-blank sample and is directed along circumference in opposition to cut. Elasticity force of spring is less or equal to elasticity force of specimen-blank sample in point of cut which value amounts to 1/4 of length of circumference of specimen-blank sample when it is installed in pipe-line. Cylinder in plane perpendicular to axis of pipe-line passing through middle of length of cylinder, on line connecting axis of pipe-line and middle of cut of cylinder on side of cut communicates with recording unit and on the other side with source of X-ray or gamma radiation. Design of specimen-blank sample makes it possible to examine value of corrosion wear of specimen-blank sample without removal of it from pipe-line which allows cost of operations to be diminished and quality of examination to be enhanced.
