FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to materials used as a carrier of biomass for water treatment, mainly sewage. Material is made as nonwoven material from synthetic fiber joined between them. For providing the necessary retaining capacity with respect to active biomass the material comprises as synthetic fibers ion-exchange fibers based on polymers taken among the following group: polyacrylonitrile, copolymer of acrylonitrile and styrene, copolymer of polypropylene and styrene or polypropylene fiber. The linear density value of fibers is in the range from 0.98 to 6.8 tex. Fibers in material are joined between them by needle-puncturing or thermally. Invention provides fine water treatment from different pollutions being under static and dynamic conditions of treatment. EFFECT: valuable properties of material. 4 cl
