FIELD: aircraft industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed air-cushion light airplane has fuselage, wing with high-lift devices, tail unit and engine-propulsion plant. Propulsor of plant is arranged before air intake communicating with air cushion space limited by peripheral guard and base of fuselage. Peripheral guard is made of front and rear guard members and side skegs. Fuselage is provided with side extensions of aerofoil section arranged along sides of airplane. Side skegs suspended from base of extensions are smoothly mated with side extensions and do not project beyond side extensions. Propulsor and air intake can be arranged in fuselage nose section. Propulsor can be made in form of coaxial propellers of opposite rotation. Airplane nose section before air intake should be made in form of ramp with streamlined edges and semiround bottom, ramp being connected with side extensions of fuselage. Front guard member can be made in form of flexible apron freely secured on side and front edges of ramp and end faces of air bottles and connected with ramp bottom by elastic cords. Rear guard member should be essentially made in form of controllable flap hinge-mounted on fuselage. Engine can be coupled with propulsor through transmission shaft and reduction gear placed directly behind the propulsor in nose section of fuselage.
