FIELD: tobacco industry; cigarette packing. SUBSTANCE: proposed rigid cigarette packet with hinge cover is made in form of right angle parallelepiped with front and rear walls parallel to each other, and two side walls parallel to each other and perpendicular to front wall and rear wall. Front and rear walls, each, contains corresponding central part and two side strips preliminarily weakened by longitudinal weakening lines. Each side strip is curved with concavity pointed inwards for connecting corresponding central part with side wall on corresponding sharp rib. According to invention, packet can be manufactured by money-saving, easy and quick method with use of packing machines which, apart from insignificant modifications, being the machines used for manufacture of packets in of parallelepiped with rectangular cross section.
