FIELD: procedure of laying of sea underwater armored electric cables. SUBSTANCE: the device has fasteners of the armored sheath, each of them is made with a sleeve for inlet of the cable, thrust ring, union joint and a process tie for the ends of the sheath metal wire, as well as an outer sleeve designed for connection of the fasteners to each other and covering of the spliced cable conductors. In each fastener the sleeve has sections with tapered and cylindrical outer surfaces, the latter of which is made with a notch for a wrench, and the union joint has sections with a tapered and cylindrical inner surface. According to the method, each end of the cable is inserted in the respective joint and passed through the thrust ring and the union joint, the metal wire is untwisted, the wire ends are bent around the surface cone of the forming member and fixed by the process tie. Then, the union joint is moved upon the fixed ends of the wire and they are crimped by the inner cone of the joint as far as it will go. Then, the outer sleeve is screwed on the union joint of one of the fasteners, the sleeve cavity is filled with a sealing compound, and after the electrical connection of the current conductors the sleeve is screwed on the union joint of another fastener. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operative and process connection of the cable ends in the conditions of the moving cable-laying ship. 4 cl, 1 dwg
