FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves recording common electrocardiogram of mother and fetus. Its second derivative is analyzed. Fetus QRS- complexes are selected from the common electrocardiogram and compared to reference QRS-complexes parameters of fetus and mother. Mean square deviations of fetal cardiac rhythm are calculated in full fluctuation frequency bandwidth with mean frequency equal to 0.075 Hz. Fetus condition is diagnosed from fluctuation mean square deviations ratio value. Device has in series connected electrodes and cardiosignal amplifier. It has also device for recording QRS- complexes, selector, device for measuring fetal cardiac intervals, band-pass filter, the first and the second mean square deviations measurement units, device for forming diagnosis parameter and the first and the second differentiators connected in series. EFFECT: high accuracy in evaluating fetus condition and detecting hypoxia signs. 2 cl, 6 dwg
