FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: machine can be used as internal combustion engine, pump, compressor or gas-expansion machine. Proposed machine contains pistons, shafts coupled with pistons by movable joints including working flats of shaft and inner surface of piston and running rollers, gear, compression and combustion chambers, and valve timing mechanism. Curvilinear slot is made on cylinder surface in which running rollers of transfer mechanism installed on piston are mounted. According to other design version, curvilinear slots in which running rollers are fitted is made on side surface of piston. Lengths of sections of groove corresponding to expansion phase of working medium exceed lengths of sections of groove corresponding to compression phase of working medium, and angle of inclination of said groove to plane perpendicular to longitudinal axis of piston on sections corresponding to expansion phase of working medium is smaller than similar angle of inclination on sections corresponding to compression phase of working medium, and sections of said groove corresponding to inner extreme positions of piston are made straight-line in plane perpendicular to longitudinal axis of cylinder. Working cylinders are combined in pairs into section on common axis coinciding with axis of output shaft of said section, and cylinder sections are arranged in honeycomb manner in parallel rows. EFFECT: realization of "asymmetrical" working cycle, improved efficiency owing to reduction of losses of working medium, mechanical, hydraulic and heat losses. 6 cl, 10 dwg
