FIELD: point-to-point or thee-point converters. SUBSTANCE: proposed method for pulse- width modulation of series-connected converters includes addition of first-converter voltage pulses (U1) having first percent modulation (m1) to second-converter voltage pulses (U2) having second percent modulation (m2) so that common space-free voltage pulse (U1+U2) is produced. Total voltage pulses (U1+U2) are symmetrical relative to next total voltage pulses. Pulse trains produced in the process are also optimized considering occurrence of higher harmonics.
