FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: radionuclide iodine base source has capsule and active part in the form of active layer on silver rod or silver-containing matrix. Active layer is composed of stable iodine and silver compounds or sulfur and silver compounds with radionuclide immobilized on this layer. Manufacturing process of radioactive iodine source includes treatment of silver or silver-covered substrate rods with stable iodine solution in organic solvent or with sulfidizing agent.
