FIELD: materials absorbing electromagnetic waves and their manufacture. SUBSTANCE: proposed radio-absorbing coating designed to absorb electromagnetic waves in ground, marine, aviation, and space engineering has warp of at least one layer of interwoven long aramide threads coated with vacuum-evaporated hydrogenated carbon film with disseminated ferromagnetic clusters, proportion of ingredients being as follows, mass percent: ferromagnetic clusters, 50 - 80; hydrogenated carbon, the rest. Radio-absorbing coating manufacturing process includes vacuum evaporation of graphite and ferromagnetic material in argonhydrogen working medium and deposition of evaporation products in the form of film onto interwoven long aramide threads, proportion of carbon and ferromagnetic material flows being 0.25 to 1.0; evaporation is conducted at following content of argon and hydrogen, mass percent: argon, 50 - 98; hydrogen, 2 - 50. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of hiding objects and reduced probability of their detection by radars. 24 cl, 6 dwg
