METHOD FOR PREDICTING OF AVERAGE YIELD OF STRAWBERRY SORTS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: biology, in particular, biological bases of productivity and agriculture, in particular, investigation of fruit and berry crop sorts. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining basic components of productivity of number of strawberry sorts; calculating total thereof and coefficients of ratios between number of flower peckers and number of prongs per one plant and average weight of berry and number of berries on one flower pecker; plotting chart of dependence between two last factors and average actual yield of sorts, said chart being further used as pattern for determining outlook degree of other strawberry sorts in given ecological and geographic zone; to do that, calculating, in first fruit bearing year, total and coefficients of productivity component ratios of sort under investigation; determining expected average yield by using said chart. Method allows most perspective strawberry sorts to be determined in first fruit-bearing year. EFFECT: increased efficiency owing to controlling of strawberry sort yield by differentiated application of fertilizer depending on biological features of fruit-bearing. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
