FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: dust collector has cylindrical housing, where air admitted via inlet channel is converted into spiral air flow, with upper end of cylindrical housing being open. Dust collector is further provided with cover for opening and closing of housing upper end and filter positioned on cover lower surface and made in the form of cylinder of predetermined length. Filter is used for filtering of finely dispersed foreign matter, when air is admitted into filter from outer space. Air is discharged downward through said filter. Discharge pipe comes into tight contact with filter lower surface. Outlet opening of discharge pipe is arranged in side surface of housing for discharging air from filter into space outer with respect to housing. Engine housing is mounted inside vacuum cleaner main casing adapted for receiving engine serving for creating of suction force. Cyclone-type dust collector is positioned in the vicinity of engine casing and equipped with discharge opening, through which air admitted by suction force created by engine is discharged upon being filtered from foreign matter. Discharge opening is made in side surface of dust collector so that air may be introduced directly into engine housing. EFFECT: improved air path inside main casing owing to cyclone dust collecting method and simplified construction of main casing. 13 cl, 6 dwg
