FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with treating and preventing male erectile disorders during sexual life and, also, in periods when sexual partner is not available. The method includes a course-type injection of erectogenic medicinal preparations to induce adequate, nocturnal spontaneous and/or artificial erections, the frequency and duration of which are sufficient to provide the level of oxygenation of penile cavernous bodies that is necessary to maintain their normal structure and functioning. The method enables to create necessary level of oxygenation of cavernous bodies for prophylaxis of penile fibrosis and maintain normal structure and functioning in cavernous tissue.
