FIELD: technology of manufacture of shells out of composite carbon - carbon material for application in air and a space technology. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a composite material, a method of production of shell-type semi-finished items out of a composite carbon - carbon material, which can be used in the air and space technology. The invention offered a composite carbon - carbon material, external layer of a die of which consists of carbonitride compounds of titanium. It also offered a method of manufacture out of the material of the semi-finished items for shells. In the process of assembly of a semi-finished items they form on a swage an external internal sealed-tight layer made out of a low-carbon steel and an external outside sealed-tight layer made out of a titanium alloy; in series degas and impregnate the die and the hardening fiber with a plastic binder, then they continuously realize a carbonization of the plastic binder with simultaneous application of an isostatic pressure by a noble gas to the external outer surface of the semi-finished item at keeping under-pressure inside the shells. The device for the method realization contains a technological shell fixed on the clamping rings and linked through a pipeline with the systems of vacuumization and pumping of the pressing gas. Then after reinstallation of the semi-finished item graphitization of the carbonized plastic binder is exercised with preliminary thermofixation of the base of the semi- finished item of the shell and with application of a tensile stress between them. Simultaneously with the graphitization a gas nitriding of the external outer surface of the titanium layer of the semi-finished item of the shell is conducted. The device for a gas nitriding contains two pairs of the heat-setting rings and swages with mazes for a heat-transfer agent and refrigerated cavities. The rings and swages are protected by the screen thermal insulation on the part of a high-temperature zone of the furnace. The upper swage is supplied with a mechanism of a tension. The technical result is production of an item of an increased strength and refractoriness and with well-preservation of the item geometrical parameters.
