FIELD: metallurgy; reworking of vanadium-containing materials; extraction of vanadium from vanadium-containing metallurgical slags. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes roasting of starting vanadium- containing material in atmosphere of oxygen of air without reactive additives at temperature of 825-875 C continued for 1-2 h and followed by leaching-out of cinder in aqueous solution of soda at concentration of 120-200 g/cu dm at temperature of 80-90 C for 3-4 h. Used as starting material is vanadium-containing slag which is preliminarily ground to size minus 0.1 mm and magnetic fraction is separated. EFFECT: facilitated procedure of oxidizing roasting due to avoidance of soda additives; enhanced ecological safety. 3 cl, 5 dwg, 2 tbl, 1 ex
