FIELD: food-processing industry, in particular, production of vegetable oil from raw vegetable oil material. SUBSTANCE: method involves charging produced oil into storage vessel; holding for 30 days at temperature below 15 C until gravitational sludge is settled on bottom; draining oil sludge from lower part of oil storage vessel into oil sludge accumulating vessel and holding it in said vessel for about 180 days at temperature below 15 C until upper oil layer and lower oil sludge layer are formed owing to gravitational break; pumping out upper oil layer through filter or centrifuge into oil storage vessel; pumping out lower oil sludge layer or draining to consumer and/or for further reprocessing. Apparatus has oil storage vessel and settling particles accumulating vessel. Inner cavity of vessel/accumulator is connected via pipeline through lock valve and pump to lower part of storage vessel. Upper part of oil sludge storage vessel is connected via additional pipeline through lock valves, pump, filter, and/or centrifuge with upper part of oil storage vessel. Lower part of oil storage vessel is connected via pipeline through lock valves and pump to oil sludge consumer. EFFECT: improved quality and increased amount of vegetable oil produced, reduced power and material consumption, improved environment ecology owing to necessity of elimination of spoiled oil sludge. 11 cl, 1 dwg
