METHOD FOR PREDICTING THROMBOSIS OF DEEP VEINS IN LOWER LIMBS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, diagnostics. SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with predicting thrombosis of deep veins in lower limbs in case of shin fractures. One should measure the ratio between the contour sizes of shin soft tissues upon roentgenogram in direct projection between horizontal roentgenocontrast labels both before and after applying a compressing gasket onto the lower femoral third and popliteal fossa at 40 mm mercury column pressure. Moreover, limb's position during the studying should be determined by similarity in vertical roentgenocontrast labels. If the distance between horizontal roentgenocontrast labels is increased after application of a compressing gasket onto popliteal area one should diagnose thrombosis of deep veins in the lower limbs.
