FIELD: upgrading of mineral product. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of upgrading of sands and is pertinent to the field of upgrading of mineral resources, in particular, to extraction of heavy minerals from the sands containing magnetic particles. The technical result is creation of optimum conditions for extraction of a valuable mineral. The method of upgrading of the sands provides for their disintegration and screen sizing (DSS), extraction of the magnetic faction (EMF), gravity concentration (GC), an after-extraction of the fine grains of a valuable mineral by feeding residue of GC in the form of a pulp onto a sluice at simultaneous action on it with a magnetic field from below (AMF) and removal of the concentrate. At that EMF is conducted simultaneously with DSS or after it using an additional screen sizing or classification of sands. Before application of AMF or directly at the stage of AMF a trapping bed made out of the earlier extracted magnetic faction is created at the bottom of the sluice. At that the share of the magnetic particles in the integrated product fed onto the sluice should be no less than 0.3 %. As an alternative of realization of the method the trapping bed is formed by preliminary feeding onto the sluice of the earlier extracted magnetic faction in the form of a pulp acting on it by a variable magnetic field. The following feeding onto the sluice of residue of GC is conducted in an alternative of realization of the method under action of permanent magnetic field. In all alternatives of realization of the method before removal of the concentrate feeding of the GC residue onto the sluice is terminated and the concentrate is subjected to action of a variable magnetic field at simultaneous delivery of wash water thereto.
