FIELD: thermomechanical machining of a structural tubing shape made out of binary zirconium - niobic alloys in metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of thermomechanical machining of a structural tubing shape made out of binary zirconium - niobic alloys. The method is dealt with metallurgy, in particular with thermomechanical machining of structural tubing shapes made out of binary zirconium - niobic alloys intended for consequent cold rolling of the items used in the capacity of structural elements of the active zones of nuclear reactors. The offered method of thermomechanical machining of the hot-wrought structural tubing shapes made out of binary zirconium - niobic alloys, provides for a hot pressing of a hot-wrought structural tubing shapes billet in (α+β) zone and a high-heat treatment in the temperature range of no less than the billets heating temperature for pressure molding. At that the high-heat treatment process is carried out in vacuum within a temperature range not exceeding 770 o with aggregate exposure at the given temperature for 1- 3 hours and the consequent cooling with a speed of not less than 1o /minute. The technical result is an increase of technological effectiveness of zirconium - niobic alloys at their consequent cold rolling and improvement of operational characteristics of the structural elements used in the active zones of the nuclear reactors.
