FIELD: plastic working of metals, namely manufacture of tube blanks for multi-stage cold rolling of tubular constructional members of active zone of nuclear reactor.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of shaping ingot to rod in range of presence α- and (α + β)- zirconium at coefficient of reducing surface area of cross section of initial ingot in range 8.5 - 13.5; after heat treatment and further working of prepared rod, drilling in it central opening; then making tube blank by extrusion.
EFFECT: possibility for processing cast structure of ingot, for closing metallurgical-origin pores at minimum losses during mechanical working of blanks.
