FIELD: railway transport, particularly point-works replacement. SUBSTANCE: method involves installing portal lifters before replaceable point-work area; subsequently removing point-work units by cantilever tracklayer; moving point-work units to portal lifter location areas for loading thereof on vehicle platform. Lifting and movement of point-work units is performed by alternate abutting tracklayer cantilever against auxiliary adjustable portal outrigger. Method of point-work units lifting and movement involves initial lifting replaceable point-work unit by cantilever tracklayer with outrigger located in cantilever center; moving cantilever tracklayer towards portal lifters up to obtaining outrigger by cantilever end; lowering unit on railway base; rearranging outrigger into cantilever center; lifting unit; moving cantilever tracklayer in previous direction; repeating outrigger moving until outrigger supports reach railway; putting outrigger on rails for common movement of outrigger, cantilever tracklayer and unit to portal lifter areas. Another unit movement from portal lifter areas is carried out by alternate abutting tracklayer cantilever against auxiliary adjustable portal outrigger. EFFECT: possibility of changing extended technological capabilities of auxiliary equipment during point-works replacement, elimination of difficult-to-obtain or expensive vehicles usage, increased productivity due to dealing with the integral units. 6 dwg
