FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion piston engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed axial crank mechanism of internal combustion piston engine contains crankshaft with crankpin, connecting rod and piston and additional eccentric, small and large gears. Crankpin of crankshaft is connected with connecting rod by means of eccentric, and eccentric is provided with small gear made integral with eccentric and having common axis of rotation with eccentric. Eccentric with small gear are located on axis of crankpin of crankshaft so that small gear of eccentric is constantly engaged with large gear installed stationary in engine cylinder block. Radius of large gear is twice as great at radius of small gear, and radius of eccentric relates to radius of crankshaft in ratio of 1:5. Invention makes it possible to create new family of more powerful ecologically clean engines with lower fuel consumption with crank mechanism effectively utilizing maximum and all following forces from pressure of gases liberated at combustion of fuel.
