SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment of belt conveyor and it is designed for catching of belt of inclined conveyors in case of its breakage. Proposed conveyor belt catching device includes conveyor flight, conveyor flight, conveyor belt break sensor, flexible element made in form of loop enclosing conveyor belt carrying run, and flexible element locks. Flexible link is rigidly connected with stationary stop being arranged from top to bottom along longitudinal axis of conveyor over conveyor belt passing over sheaves with sagging between sheaves being connected by free end with conveyor belt tension trolley. Device is furnished with additional flexible elements made in form of loops enclosing carrying run of conveyor belt and supporting frames secured in places of maximum sagging of flexible link on conveyor flight over conveyor belt on which flexible element locks are installed. Conveyor belt break sensor is rigidly secured on flexible link. Flexible elements are secured on flexible link and are provided with elastic rollers installed for rotation and arranged under conveyor belt. Proposed method of catching of torn-off conveyor belt includes supply of break signal, tightening of conveyor belt and deflection of belt. Said conveyor belt is tightened by loops of flexible elements which are secured on flexible link arranged over conveyor belt and connected with stationary stop. First tightening of loop close to conveyor belt break sensor is done by means of said sensor which is made in form of weight rigidly secured on flexible link, and following loops made of flexible elements are tightened by conveyor belt proper at its movement with formation of pockets for weight.

EFFECT: improved reliability and provision of quick action of device.
