FIELD: utilization of nonferrous metal-containing waste.
SUBSTANCE: magnesium-containing waste, in particular slimes formed in carnallite chlorinators, is ground and treated with water to form wash water and insoluble precipitate, which are separated from each other. Precipitate is dried to give magnesium oxide and wash water evaporated to give synthetic carnallite. Invention is designed for use in chemical, metallurgical, and building industries.
EFFECT: simplified processing reduced expenses.
