FIELD: production of glass containers.
SUBSTANCE: rotating cylinder mechanism is designed for glass container forming machine equipped with individual sections and is provided with annular casing, piston driven in reversing mode by liquid and positioned inside annular casing for displacement between inner and outer positions along straight path, rod connected to piston for movement therewith, and shock-absorber arranged inside slot in annular casing. Longitudinal central axis of shock-absorber is arranged in spaced relation and in parallel with longitudinal central axis of rod. Shock-absorber is positioned so as to come into cooperation with piston, when the latter approaches its outer position for damping of internal stress during braking of piston until it stops at its outer position. Slot has opening, which is out of alignment with longitudinal central axis of shock-absorber, when the latter is arranged inside slot. Shock-absorber is positioned for rotation relative to longitudinal central axis of rod and for withdrawal thereof through said opening by moving along path, which is extending out of parallelism with longitudinal central axis of rod. Method involves providing slot with opening, which is out of alignment with longitudinal central axis of shock-absorber; removing device, which holds shock-absorber in slot; engaging front end of shock-absorber with elongate device extending in parallel with longitudinal axis of shock-absorber; lifting elongate device relative to longitudinal central axis of rod for lifting of shock-absorber front end through opening in slot; withdrawing shock-absorber by moving it in direction extending along its longitudinal central axis.
EFFECT: improved operating parameters of shock-absorber and simplified positioning of shock-absorber in slot of glass formation machine and withdrawal thereof from said slot.
