FIELD: organic chemistry, steroids, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method for the direct esterification of stanol/sterols by interaction of stanol/sterol and acid taken in the stoichiometric ratio in the presence of sufficient amount of catalyst that can be acid or basic agent and in the presence of sufficient amount of decolorizing agent but preferably with the activated carbon. Method is useful for large-scale manufacturing esters with high yield and provides avoiding the usage of organic solvents or mineral acids.
EFFECT: improved preparing methods.
