FIELD: polymerization processes and catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of polymer composite materials, in particular to hardening catalysts for compositions based on epoxide and phenol-formaldehyde oligomers hardening on a support. Objective of invention is to increase storage stability of indicated compositions. For that, a method of preparing orthophosphoric acid-based hardening catalysts for epoxide-phenol compositions is developed, which is characterized by that anhydrous orthophosphoric acid is heated with phenyl glycidyl ether or butyl glycidyl ether under stepped temperature conditions and using 1 mole anhydrous orthophosphoric acid per 3-9 mole ether. Thus synthesized catalyst allows stability of epoxide-phenol compositions to be increased because of that, in contrast to industrially employed orthophosphoric acid, when introduced into composition, catalyst does not interact with composition oligomers neither in precondensation process, nor on long-term storage and transfers into active state only at hardening temperature above 200оС.
EFFECT: considerably improved protective characteristics of epoxide-phenol composition-based coatings.
