METHOD OF PRODUCING A PIGMENTED AMINOPHENOL CURING ACCELERATOR - MODIFIER OF EPOXY COMPOSITE MATERIALS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC B01J31/00 C08G59/40

Abstract RU 2704010 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry, specifically to production of aminophenol curing accelerators – modifiers of epoxy binders with use thereof, including impregnating compounds used in production of composite polymer materials with fibrous fillers, for example glass-, carbon- or basalt-plastic. Method of producing a pigmented aminophenol curing accelerator – modifier of epoxy composite materials, characterized in that it includes a base – a product of dry grinding – dispersion of a novolac phenol-formaldehyde oligomer – product of reaction of phenol with formaldehyde, obtained in excess of phenol in presence of acid catalyst, combined during dispersion with hexamethylenetetramine and urotropin at weight ratio of components of novolac : urotropin 94:6–86:14; pulverbakelite, which before pigmentation into epoxy binder is first pigmented with organic pigment dyes selected from phthalocyanine blue and green, industrial carbon, then filled with achromatic inorganic white pigments and fillers selected from titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, omyacarb, talc, chromatic iron oxide pigments with dry dispersion and mechanochemical activation. Produced charge containing pigmented base of modifier-accelerator is introduced into epoxy binder – preliminary obtained mixture of low-molecular epoxy oligomer and isomethyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride at stoichiometric ratio of epoxy oligomer-hardener. Process of modification, interaction of urotropin and novolac with each other and with components of epoxy binder, is carried out mainly during hardening of fibrous filler impregnated with epoxy binder containing charge of accelerator hardening modifier, at temperature from 180 to 300 °C for 2–5 minutes.

EFFECT: obtaining a pigmented aminophenol curing accelerator – modifier, which increases degree of hardening of epoxy binder, intensifies the process of producing a polymer composite, reduces power consumption of the process, as well as increase the viability without reducing the hardening degree of epoxy impregnation impregnating compounds of anhydride hardening and obtain colored articles with improved strength, decorative and tactile properties of the surface of the polymer composite.
