FIELD: textile industry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing stems and providing double-sided scutching of stems by means of beaters; during engagement of beaters with fibers in lower half of scutching field, changing extension of beater working edge with respect to grid arranged under beaters.

EFFECT: increased yield of elongated fibers owing to reduced intensity of processing of yarn ends.
