SUBSTANCE: method of band production involves feeding roving from reels, impregnating roving by passing roving through impregnation station with temperature of bonding agent of 55o - 65oC, moving upper and lower glass fabric webs unwound from rolls and roving located between the webs into forming station having semicircular cross section, wherein lead-in part of forming station has heating plates and several zones arranged one after another along length thereof for providing zonal heating under temperature of 55o - 65oC, 85o - 95oC and 125o - 135oC up to full elastic hardening of band; winding band onto drum during rotation thereof around axis in direction coinciding with direction of band moving through forming station. Band has upper and lower glass fabric webs between which roving impregnated with bonding material is located. Bonding material is based on polyester resin and/or epoxy resin. Roving is formed together with webs and is hardened up to elastic condition. Band has arc shape. Device for band production includes reels with roving arranged on carrier, stand for two glass fabric web rolls located between carriers, forming station with upper heating plates for zonal heating of lead-in and semicircular parts up to temperatures of 55o - 65oC, 85o - 95oC and 125o - 135oC, cylinders of impregnation station arranged such that cylinder axes are parallel to forming station slot plane. Device also has receiving drum having diameter equal to 0.7 - 1.5 diameters of semicircular forming station part. Drum may rotate in direction coinciding with direction of band motion through forming station.
EFFECT: increased physical and mechanical band characteristics, provision of equal mode of band roving deformation, prevention of forming defects, namely creases, corrugations, dents and peeling, during band production.
