FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed helical pressure spring made of steel spring wire with great number of coils over length is made for compression to touch of coils. Said helical spring is provided with at least two types of coils with different outer diameter between both end coils, namely, first larger outer diameter, and second smaller outer diameter. Said coils are arranged relative to longitudinal axis of spring one after the other so that spring has diametrically opposite zones of coils which, relative to longitudinal direction of helical spring in radial direction are at least at one height from one side, while diametrically opposite zones of coils of both types are displaced approximately through difference of their outer diameters. Said helical pressure spring is used as energy accumulator in torsional vibration damper with at least two construction members made for turning against resistance force of at least one said energy accumulator with coils passing along its longitudinal axis. Said construction members have zones supplying load for compression of above-indicated energy accumulator. Invention makes it possible to create torsional vibration damper of large damping capacity and increased service life and making of helical pressure springs featuring high load potential at simultaneously high serviceability and energy accumulating capacity.

EFFECT: improved quality of torsional vibration damper and helical pressure spring.
