FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: proposed meter includes neutral buoyancy buoy and neutral buoyancy float on which acoustic radiator and receiver are secured. Device includes also converting and processing units arranged inside neutral buoyancy buoy. Acoustic pulse receiver is made in form of two fiber coils placed in sea medium at known distance from each other and optically connected with coherent light source and photo-detector. One fiber coil is provided with phase shifter; acoustic pulse receiver is secured on neutral buoyancy buoy and radiator is secured on neutral buoyancy float with power supply unit located inside it.
EFFECT: avoidance of effect of scalar quantities of sea medium on meter readings.
