FIELD: analytic technique; methods of estimation of detonation resistance of motor petrols.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes determination of informative parameter for standard petrols, plotting calibration dependence of informative parameter versus octane number of these petrols, determination of magnitude of informative parameter of sample of petrol under test and determination of octane number by calibration dependence; proposed method includes also measurement of density and temperature of petrol sample. Refraction index of petrol under test is measured additionally; surface tension of petrol under test is used as informative parameter; octane number is determined at temperature ranging from 10 to 40 C by design formula.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure; fire safety and invariance of measurement results.
