SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, specifically to an alkaline secondary battery in which the conductive agent contains carbon. Carbon or cobalt used as a conductive agent in an electrode in an alkaline secondary battery is oxidised under the effect of oxygen formed on the positive electrode. Conductive agent, which decomposes as a result of oxidation, loses its conductivity during repeated discharge and charging, which leads to a reduction in the cyclic life of the cell. In an alkaline secondary battery filled with hydrogen, the oxygen formed on the positive electrode binds to the hydrogen. This prevents the decomposition of the conductive agent on the electrode as a result of oxidation. As a result, a cell with a very good cyclic life characteristic is provided.
EFFECT: longer cyclic life of an alkaline battery is the technical result of the invention.
