LINEAR INDUCTION ACCELERATOR Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2231937 C1

FIELD: acceleration engineering; generation of nanosecond electron and ion beams of high pulse repetition rate.

SUBSTANCE: linear induction accelerator has ferromagnetic inductance system in the form of set of ferromagnetic cores wound with magnetizing turns. Attached to leads of ferromagnetic turns are potential and ground electrodes of single-conductor shaping line. Ground electrodes of shaping lines are connected to ground through magnetizing turn of magnetic switch. Shaping line is charged by means of magnetic pulse generator made in the form of chain of circuits set up of capacitors and saturable reactors. Newly introduced in shaping line are additional electrodes electrically connected to high-voltage leads of magnetic pulse generator and to ground terminal of linear induction accelerator through magnetizing turn of additional saturable reactor.

EFFECT: enhanced discharge voltage amplitude of shaping line and reduced time for its discharging through load.
